In September 2019 , our company won the bid again for Melbourne's new landmark building Normanby . This project is located at 199 Normanby Road, Southbank, Melbourne . This is a 40 -storey multi-purpose building adjacent to Melbourne's city centre. It has excellent location advantages and unlimited development potential. The building was designed by the well-known designer DKO Architecture . The emergence of the emerging Fisherman Bend and Normanby has undoubtedly added beautiful new landmarks to this emerging urban area.

The height of the building is 122.83 meters, and the total area of ​​the curtain wall is about 11,000 ㎡. The main systems include tower unit glass curtain wall system, podium frame curtain wall system, podium window wall system, sliding door system, and partial aluminum panel curtain wall system.

The biggest highlight of this project is the 3D plate, which is also the key difficulty of this project. The main part is from G to 6 of the podium and 20 to the roof of the tower , accounting for about one half of the total number of unit curtain walls. Because there are many types of plate surface materials, and there are structural relationships such as tilt and three-dimensional surfaces, the detailed requirements for the beautiful processing of the splicing parts of each visible component of the plate unit are relatively high. For the special-shaped plate, a single unit plate has a large number of component parts, a large number of assembly and mating relationships, complex profile processing, difficult assembly, and high installation accuracy requirements, which need to respond to the needs of assembly and installation efficiency.

In addition, there are many joints and waterproof surfaces of the special-shaped plate system, the waterproof circuit is complicated, the space for the thermal rock wool layout around the glass frame is limited, and the rock wool layout is difficult.

In order to solve the above difficulties, our company adopts a full three-dimensional design model of overall modeling, a newly designed drainage system and waterproof sealing lines, which are completely different from traditional unit curtain walls. The 3D panel LED strips run through it, forming a three-dimensional effect through the splicing of different angles, fully showing the modern urban atmosphere and the cultural roots of Spain, which is refreshing.

With the development of the construction industry, the building's modeling requirements are more and more, and such unit curtain walls will be presented more and more. Only by grasping the main points in the entire design and construction process, careful planning, effective use of computer simulation, professional Measurement and inspection can complete the fine project of customer satisfaction.
